Acoustic Guitars & Electro-Acoustic Guitars
Ibanez TCY10E Electro Acoustic, Black - The Talman is offered with a choice between magnetic and piezo pickups allowing the player tonal flexibility for any type of situation. It is compact and lightweight, giving the player the same type of mobility as an electric guitar player on stage. The Ibanez double-cutaway Talmans are perfect for the electric guitarist who wants to gain full tones of an acoustic guitar without losing the comfort and playability of an electric. TCY models feature the clarity of an under saddle pickup combined with a spruce top.
A beautiful guitar in both design and sound, the Ibanez AEW21VK-NT Electro Acoustic Guitar combines excellent woods to provide an acoustic guitar with both style and substance. You wouldn’t expect anything less from Ibanez’s Artcore series, though.
The body of the Ibanez AEW21VK-NT utilises a spruce top, for its detailed tone and dynamic response, along with it’s exceptional projection before you even plug the guitar into an amp. A classic top wood for acoustic guitars, this wood gives you a bright colouring, while the ovankol used for the guitar’s back & sides provides something a little different, with it’s detailed, thick grain giving a deep contrast from the top. It’s not just about aesthetics though. Related to rosewood, you will find a similarity in tone, but ovankol has a fuller mid-range and a slightly brighter top end. The well-rounded nature of ovankol makes it excellent for those who want an all-purpose tone, rather than a more narrowed palette of sound.
The Artwood Vintage series now showcases another vintage element by applying an "ageing" process to the tonewood : "Thermo Aged tone wood, made by a special drying process at a high temperature which is commonly known as "baking", "caramelisation", "roasting" or "torrefaction." The Thermo Aged process makes the sound louder across the entire frequency range, especially the bass and treble areas. Having a Thermo Aged solid top gives even more bass, even more treble, and plenty of punch. It is a bit like having the guitar 'played in' for years from new! Thermo Aged Spruce bracing further enhances this.
Other top-notch features include a bone nut and saddle which provide optimal transference of the natural string vibration and Chrome Open Gear tuners with Butterbean knobs (18:1 gear ratio) which ensure accurate, stable tuning and help reduce the headstock weight whilst contributing to the vintage look. D'Addario Nickel Bronze strings emphasize the natural voice of Thermo Aged wood with incredible clarity, resonance and projection whilst the nut and compensated saddle are both made from bone. The Ibanez Advantage bridge pins really are an advantage over old-fashioned pins- Advantage pins are easier to take out and easier to put in than standard pins. A special bulb-shaped end makes the pin easy to grip and also prevents the pin from being pushed in too far. Best of all, with Advantage, the pin and string stay put.
